There are three beautiful yarns at work in this Pussy Cap and each one of them brings something really special to the mix. In the body of the cap I joined a strand of kid mohair with a strand of a luxurious Japanese silk ribbon yarn. They're beautiful together; the matte effect of the mohair with the shimmering luxe of the silk. Topping off the cap is a crown of handspun and handyed baby alpaca yarn from Lisa Souza in a rich pallet of purples that perfectly matches and compliments the yarns beneath it. The fit is generous and comfortable with warmth, durability and softness to spare.

Deep indigo blues with touches of periwinkle and a strong undercurrent of black make this Pussy Cap both dramatic and subtle all at the same time. The natural black yarn is superfine alpaca from Peru`, one of my all-time favorite yarns to work with. No black on earth can match its lustrous beauty. Accompanying it throughout are two strands of cashmere from Lisa Souza. One of them she handpainted in aqua blues and the other in a subtle periwinkle/purple pallet. The three yarns as one make for a supple, luxuriously soft and very warm fabric that not only feels amazing on but looks wonderful on as well. The fit is classic beanie cap with plenty of length to cover your forehead and ears. The cashmere yarns will bloom with time and create a downy soft halo making this Pussy Cap softer and more luxurious as time goes on. A real winner...

The body of this beanie cap combines two gorgeous yarns; one of them a lustrous silk in a subtle burgundy that was handpainted by Lisa Souza and the other a fabulous Koigu Merino that's been handpainted by mother & daughter team Maie & Taiu Landra of Ontario, Canada. The combination of these two yarns makes for a wonderfully thick fabric that's as soft as it is beautiful and durable. The turned up band combines a strand of handspun, handpainted cashmere from Lisa Souza, a dusty maroon merino again from the Landras and a very thin strand of textured silk and rayon. The cap has a generous, easy fit and would be ideal for someone who has a lot of hair and doesn't want it too squished down when wearing a cap. I love this cap - it's sophisticated without being fussy and the colors are just wonderful.

There are two naturally colored alpaca yarns in this fabulous Four Corners Pussy Cap and they came from Deb McMurtrie's herd of alpacas in Kamas, Utah near Park City. After Deb sheared her alpacas in the spring she sent the fibers off to a local mill in Utah to be spun into these amazing yarns. They're soft and full of loft and the feel of the fabric is something truly special. Each of the yarns has been doubled so you're looking at an amazing amount of warmth and protection here. Given the loose style of the spinning these yarns will puff up a little and create even more softness and warmth. A truly gorgeous cap that can be worn with the band up or down looking wonderful either way.

This is such a luscious Pussy Cap that I almost kept it for my personal collection. The white yarn is a downy soft baby alpaca from Peru` and it's joined by a gorgeous golden handspun wool from Uruguay. There is a ton of squishy softness and loft here and a big rolled up band that adds just that much more warmth and protection for the ears and forehead. The fit is snug and comfortable and this is definitely a cap for the colder days of winter. Alpaca is 7 to 8 times warmer than wool and you'll really feel it here in the dulce de leche inspired Pussy Cap.

Three distinctly beautiful yarns went into this Pussy Cap. Pulled along together as if they were one strand are: natural brown superfine alpaca, a coffee dyed pure cashmere and a luscious golden thread of wool from Uruguay. The band is trimmed in the golden Uruguayan wool. This cap can be worn with the band turned up or down and it looks beautiful either way. An easy fit but one that won't get sloppy with wear because of the high quality of these natural animal-fibered yarns. Warmth, softness and some really beautiful colors make this Pussy Cap a winner.

Nekkers start out like Pussy Caps but instead of finishing them at the top I leave them open so that you can slide them down over your head and onto your neck. It's like a scarf only it won't fall off. It's like a turtleneck without the rest of the sweater. It's like the coolest thing ever only better. As you can see in the pictures there's lots of ways you can wear your Nekker. For this stunner I crocheted two beautiful yarns together as one. The first is a Pussy Cap exclusive from Canada that blends equal parts cashmere, angora fur and baby alpaca in a deep marroon. Its companion is a luscious handpainted yarn from Lisa Souza that's blended from baby alpaca and silk. All in all this is just the ultimate in a Nekker - downy soft, warm beyond warm and gorgeous on.

Tons and tons of baby alpaca, cashmere and silk make this Pussy Cap a true showstopper as well as being downy soft and luxuriously thick. The huge turned up band is cashmere, silk and merino while the body of the cap is all natural white baby alpaca and handpainted baby blue cashmere. The tassel combines the baby alpaca with the cashmere and is fastened to the crown of the cap in such a way that it moves freely when you do. This is a big cap with an easy but not sloppy fit. Perfect for anyone with or without a lot of hair. You'll love the feel of baby alpaca, silk and cashmere all together. And you'll stay warm while loving the softness.
$140.00 Cap #11895-1
Cashmere, cashmere and more cashmere handspun and handpainted by Lisa Souza of Placerville, CA. It's topped off with a fabulous merino ribbon yarn that was handpainted by Collinette in Wales and tapers down to the band of the cap where it's connected by the heart. The jeweled heart can be removed if you prefer something simpler. But you'd break my heart if you did.
$120.00 Cap #11856 -1
Three really wonderful yarns went into this Pussy Cap. In the solid colored bands I combined two yarns - a downy soft olive boucle` from Italy with a teal Koigu merino yarn from Canada that's been handpainted. The colors of these two yarns are subtle but work as a nice foundation for the more colorful yarns they accompany. The colorful yarn here is a South American wool that was buttonspun, which is an old and now rare method of handspinning. You can hover over the images to see more detailed views of that yarn. It's amazing stuff and I was lucky to find it at a good price. Before being spun the fibers were kettle-dyed and you can really see the difference in the richness and translucency of the colors. This Pussy Cap has a substantial feel to it as well as being soft and protective. Beautiful on and priced very well for so much quality.
