They're soft, they're warm, they're durable, they're beautiful on and hey, they're more than an indulgence because they're so utilitarian.
For those of you interested in learning more about yarns and fibers and some of the words used when talking about them, I've created an illustrated glossary of terms. It's a work in progress but you can take a look at it by clicking here.
Total fabulosity for the last few days of fall and the first early nips of winter, this stunningly colored Pussy Cap has been crafted from a very soft wool that was lightly bound by a tiny thread of merino. Alternating rows are a thread of rayon and silk in a lot of luscious complimentary colors. Lots of breathing room here with the open spaces between rows and a ton of stretch for any size head. Tons of fun in a perfect year round Pussy Cap.

Thick and soft and cushy this Pussy Cap boasts three amazing yarns crocheted together as one. A natural jet-black strand of alpaca from Peru` is the foundation and it is accompanied by two very different strands of handpainted merino in subtle shades of purple and smoky lavender. Warm, soft, durable and classically styled for anybody's head no matter how big or small.

This Pussy Cap has a luxurious buttery softness that's imbued by the lacey threads of cashmere and angora fur that are its foundation. Accompanying them is a strand of handpainted cashmere from Lisa Oldt Souza in a soft woody brown and a natural ivory yarn from Canada that's blended from yak down, cashmere and silk.

Oh yeh, big and thick and warm and looking for all the world like it came from a yak herder in the circumpolar regions of our planet! The most visible yarn in the cap is from Sandy Ryan's farm in Wisconsin where her animals all donate freely to the spinning cause. She took one yarn and dyed it a gorgeous Chinese red and the other a stunning teal. And then she spun those two yarns together as one. Accompanying that handspun yarn throughout the cap is my Pussy Cap original yarn that's blended from equal parts cashmere, angora fur and baby alpaca. Yum! On the inside of the cap (hover over the image to see it) I've created a lining for next to the skin of cashmere, merino and baby alpaca yarns. The huge three inch turned up band gives you so much added warmth and protection that you could pretty much face the coldest day of the year without a problem. It's big and warm and soft and amazing on. The best of the best from your local beaniecapguy.

My daughter Auri in one of the more exotic Pussy Caps made from natural white handspun angora fur and wool. Above is my grandson Tristan in his very own custom Pussy Cap made with yarns I brought back from Italy with me 20 years before he was born.
This is such a luscious Pussy Cap that I almost kept it for my personal collection. The white yarn is a downy soft baby alpaca from Peru` and it's joined by a gorgeous golden handspun wool from Uruguay. There is a ton of squishy softness and loft here and a big rolled up band that adds just that much more warmth and protection for the ears and forehead. The fit is snug and comfortable and this is definitely a cap for the colder days of winter. Alpaca is 7 to 8 times warmer than wool and you'll really feel it here in the dulce de leche inspired Pussy Cap.

There are two naturally colored alpaca yarns in this cap and they came from Deb McMurtries herd of alpacas in Kamas, Utah near Park City. After Deb sheared her alpacas in the spring she sent the fibers off to a local mill in Utah to be spun into these amazing yarns. They're soft and full of loft and the feel of the fabric is something truly special. The cap is fully reversible and by hovering over the pictures you can see what each side looks like. Nice, eh? A comfortable easy fit in a traditional beanie cap style that's chock full of warmth, softness and style.

Three distinctly beautiful yarns went into this Pussy Cap. Pulled along together as if they were one strand are: natural brown superfine alpaca, a coffee dyed pure cashmere and a luscious golden thread of wool from Uruguay. The band is trimmed in the golden Uruguayan wool. This cap can be worn with the band turned up or down and it looks beautiful either way. An easy fit but one that won't get sloppy with wear because of the high quality of these natural animal-fibered yarns. Warmth, softness and some really beautiful colors make this Pussy Cap a winner.

There are two naturally colored alpaca yarns in this fabulous Four Corners Pussy Cap and they came from Deb McMurtrie's herd of alpacas in Kamas, Utah near Park City. After Deb sheared her alpacas in the spring she sent the fibers off to a local mill in Utah to be spun into these amazing yarns. They're soft and full of loft and the feel of the fabric is something truly special. Each of the yarns has been doubled so you're looking at an amazing amount of warmth and protection here. Given the loose style of the spinning these yarns will puff up a little and create even more softness and warmth. A truly gorgeous cap that can be worn with the band up or down looking wonderful either way.

Nekkers start out like Pussy Caps but instead of finishing them at the top I leave them open so that you can slide them down over your head and onto your neck. It's like a scarf only it won't fall off. It's like a turtleneck without the rest of the sweater. It's like the coolest thing ever only better. For this stunner I crocheted two beautiful yarns together as one. The first is a Pussy Cap exclusive from Canada that blends equal parts cashmere, angora fur and baby alpaca in a deep rich black. Its companion is a luscious handpainted yarn from Lisa Souza that's blended from baby alpaca and silk. All in all this is just the ultimate in a Nekker - downy soft, warm beyond warm and gorgeous on.

Now this is something special - a natural tan alpaca yarn that was handspun by Sandy Ryan of Wisconsin using fibers from her herd. She left these wonderful schlubs of the alpaca fibers randomly along the length of the yarn and I crocheted it in such a way that the schlubs all appear on one side. They're downy soft and such a completely integral part of the yarn that they'll never come off. Accompanying the tan alpaca is a natural white superfine alpaca yarn from Peru`. Tons of warmth and softness and plenty of length to cover your ears in this 100% natural alpaca Pussy Cap.

The Four Corners Pussy Cap is one of my signature styles and has proven to be wildly popular because they're so comfortable and look so cool on. A little more money for a lot more cap makes the Four Corners a true bargain. Did I mention soft? And warm? And totally cool on?

A beautifully soft natural white highland wool makes up the bulk of this Pussy Cap. Trimming it is a subtle but wonderful strand of silk, rayon and merino. The tassle ontop uses the same yarns as are in the cap and adds a lot of whimsy and movement. The cap is stunning on and has a decidedly winter look while being feminine and sophisticated all at the same time. A very unusual offering for this season and a cap that truly carries the distinction "one of a kind."
$100.00 Cap #11879-1
Three wonderful natural animal fibers make up the yarns in this Pussy Cap. The grey yarn is a blend of cashmere and lambswool and its companion is the world famous Koigu Merino yarn from Canada that's been handpainted by mother/daughter fiber artists Maia and Taie Landra of Ontario. The Koigu yarns gives this cap a tremendous amount of elasticity and durability while still being soft enough to wear next to the skin. The cashmere and lambswool of course lend legendary softness for a cap that will likely be wearable by anybody no matter how sensitive the skin. The fit is traditional beanie cap wonderful with plenty of length to come down to the eyes and below the ears.
$100.00 Cap #11874-1
Tons and tons of baby alpaca, cashmere and silk make this Pussy Cap a true showstopper as well as being downy soft and luxuriously thick. The huge turned up band is cashmere, silk and merino while the body of the cap is all natural white baby alpaca and handpainted baby blue cashmere. The tassel combines the baby alpaca with the cashmere and is fastened to the crown of the cap in such a way that it moves freely when you do. This is a big cap with an easy but not sloppy fit. Perfect for anyone with or without a lot of hair. You'll love the feel of baby alpaca, silk and cashmere all together. And you'll stay warm while loving the softness.
$140.00 Cap #11895-1
Lots and lots of Peruvian alpaca yarns here in their natural white and light brown colors. In addition to the alpaca one of the strands of yarn was spun from wool and silk. I took three strands of yarn and crocheted them as one which gives this cap a luxurious thickness without stiffness. The fabric is soft and substantial and way more than enough warmth and protection for any kind of winter weather. A real beauty with a generous fit that will work great for anybody regardless of head size or hair. Finishing it off is a handcrafted elkhorn button that my twin brother made for me. It turns the band up just on the one side giving this cap a most distinctive style and flair.
$120.00 Cap #11896 Sold
This is a downy soft and very lightweight Pussy Cap crafted from cashmere, merino, angora fur and a little bit of natural black baby alpaca. I purposely chose smaller yarns to keep the cap lightweight so that it could be worn comfortably any time of the year. It will still keep you warm in winter but won't have to be put away in spring. This cap will fit close to the head without squeezing it and there's plenty of length to come down to the eyes in front and below the ears.
Cap #11897 Sold
The look here might be subtle but the luxuriously soft yarns are anything but when they're covering your head and ears. I chose three different yarns and crocheted them together as one for the body of the cap. The first is a blend of qiviut & merino, the second a blend of ramie & angora fur and the third is a blend of cashmere & yak down. This is truly one of those caps that has to be felt to be believed; the softness is otherworldly. Accenting in the band is a natural black baby alpaca yarn that sets off the contrasting pattern. Softness and warmth from some of the world's rarest and finest natural animal fibers make this Pussy Cap something very special. An easy fit for any size head with plenty of length to keep your forehead and ears well covered.
$140.00 Cap #11898
I combined a number of different yarns here for colorful symphony in pinks, purples, periwinkle and pale blue. They are blended from baby alpaca, merino and silk for softness, warmth and lots of protection from the winter cold. The fit is easy with plenty of stretch for anybody's head and lots of length for covering your forehead and ears. The Koigu merino yarn I used in this cap has a lot of memory and strength so this cap will last a long long time and keep you warm and beautiful doing it.
$100.00 Cap #11899-S
The buttery softness of this Pussy Cap is a result of a fabulous natural white cashmere from Australia that is one of the softest millspun cashmeres I've ever worked with. Joining it are yak down, silk and a little bit of angora fur for an amazingly soft and silky fabric that will make you smile wide. I trimmed this cap with a delicate Japanese silk ribbon yarn in a warm taupe. The fit is simple and loose and you can wear it with a turned up band or long with a slight drape at the crown. Sometimes the look of luxury is subtle but what you feel in your hands and on your head in this case clearly sets a standard for softness that can only be found in a Pussy Cap.
$120.00 Cap #11900-1a
Big and bold in black & white this fabulous Four Corners Pussy Cap will set you apart. The yarns are blended from cashmere, lambswool and baby alpaca and the resulting fabric is thick, soft and highy protective. The turned up band in black is also a blend of cashmere and lambswool and it can be worn up for more protection around the ears and forehead or worn down to create a big drape at the crown, which is my favorite way of wearing the Four Corners Pussy Caps. The black strands of yarn have been left dangling purposely but you can always pull them through to the other side if you want a simpler look. This is a big big hat but the fit is nice and not at all sloppy. You'll love it. Buy it!
$140.00 Cap #11901a
A truly gorgeous Nekker, this one is crafted from yarns are blended from cashmere, lambswool and black Chilean angora fur. The resulting fabric is thick, soft and highy protective and will not only look wonderful on but keep your neck toasty warm no matter how cold it gets outside. The angora fur is luxurious, warm and soft and is what you'll feel most next to the delicate skin of your neck.
